Hunter Douglas Vs Bali

I found a great article in Light of the Soul where Miguel Ruiz in his book "Mastery of Love" tells of the soul wound. It is very illustrative, read it in detail:

wound Mind

may never have thought in this issue, but to a greater or lesser extent we are all teachers. We are masters because we have the power to create and direct our own lives. In the same way that different societies and religions around the world have created an amazing mythology, we create our own.

Our personal mythology is filled with heroes and villains, angels and demons, kings and commoners. We created an entire population in our mind and include multiple personalities for ourselves. Then acquire control over the image that we will use in certain circumstances. We become artists of pretense and the projection of our image and teachers of anything that we believe to be. When we meet other people classify them immediately as we believe they are. And we act the same way with all people and things around us.

have the power to create. Your power is so strong that whatever you choose to believe becomes reality. You think to yourself, whatever you think you are. You are like you because that is what you believe about yourself. All your reality, everything you think is the fruit of your own creation. Have the same power as any other human being in the world. The main difference between you and someone else lies in how you apply your power and what you create with it. Maybe you look like other People in many things, but not everyone lives life the same way as you.

you practiced your whole life to be who you are and you do so well that you have become a teacher than you think you are. You are a master of your own personality and your own beliefs dominate every action and reaction. Practices for years and years until you reach the level of expertise to be what you think you are. And when you finally realize that we are all teachers, we see what kind of expertise we have.

When a child has a problem with someone and be angry, for whatever reason, anger makes the problem go away and thus get the result I wanted. Then it happens again, and again reacted with anger, as we now know that if he gets angry, the problem disappears. Well, then practice and practice until he became a master of anger.

So, in this same way is how we become masters of jealousy, sadness teachers or teachers of self-denial. All of our misery and our suffering are rooted in practice. Establish an agreement with ourselves and follow it until it grows into a complete mastery. The way we think, how we feel and how we act becomes so routine that we stopped paying attention to what we do. We behave in a certain way just because we are accustomed to act and react well.

But to become masters of love we must practice love. The art of relationships is also a comprehensive mastery and the only way to achieve it is through practice. Therefore, to become a teacher in a relationship to proceed. This is not to acquire certain concepts or to achieve a particular knowledge. It's a matter of action. Now, obviously, to act must have some knowledge or at least awareness of how humans operate.

want you to imagine that you live on a planet where all people have a skin disease. For two or three thousand years, people on this planet has had the same disease: whole body is covered with infected wounds, which when touched, really hurt. Obviously, people believe that this is the normal physiology of the skin. Even the medical books describe the disease as the normal state. At birth the skin is healthy, but three or four years, begin to appear the first injury and adolescence, covering the entire body.

Can you imagine how they treat these people? To relate each have to protect their wounds. Almost never touch the skin of one another because it is too painful, and if by accident you touch someone's skin, the pain is so intense that it immediately gets angry with you and yours is up to you, only to retaliate. Still, the instinct of love is so strong that the planet is paying a high price for having sex with other people.

Well, imagine that one day a miracle happens. You wake up and your skin is completely healed. You do not have any wound and it hurts when you touch. Touching a healthy skin feels wonderful because the skin is made for perception. Can you imagine yourself with healthy skin in a world where all people have a skin disease? You can not touch others because it hurts and nobody's up to you because they think it will hurt. If you can imagine this, you will understand that if someone from another planet came to visit would have a similar experience with humans. But not our skin that is full of wounds. What visitors discover is that the human mind suffers from a disease called fear. As the infected skin of the inhabitants of this imaginary world, our emotional body is full of wounds, wounds infected with emotional poison. The fear of the disease manifests itself through anger, hatred, sadness, of envy and hypocrisy, and the outcome of this disease are all emotions that cause human suffering.

All human beings have the same mental illness. We could even say that this world is a mental hospital. However, this mental illness has been around for thousands of years. The books of medicine, psychiatry and psychology describe it as a normal state. Normalize it, but I tell you it is not.

When fear becomes too intense, rational mind begins to fail and is no longer able to endure all these wounds full of poison. Psychology books call this phenomenon mental illness. We call it schizophrenia, paranoia, psychosis, but the truth is that these diseases occur when the rational mind is so scared and wounds hurt so much, it is preferable to break contact with the outside world.

human beings live in constant fear of being hurt and this gives rise to major conflicts wherever we go. The way we relate to each other causes much emotional pain, for no apparent reason, get angry and feel jealousy, envy, or sadness. Even to say "I love you" can be frightening. But while maintaining an emotional interaction causes us pain and scares us, we do so, we initiated a relationship, getting married and having children.

Due to the fear that human beings have to be injured and to protect our emotional wounds, create some very sophisticated in our mind: a big denial system. In this system of denial we become a perfect liar. We lie so well that we lie to ourselves and we even believe our own lies. We realize that we are lying, and sometimes, even when we know we lie, lie and justify the excuse to protect the pain of our wounds.

denial system is like a wall of fog in front of our eyes that blinds It prevents us from seeing the truth. We carry a social mask because it is too painful to look at ourselves or allow others to see us as we really are. The denial system lets us pretend that all people believe what we want to create for us. And though these barriers placed to protect us and keep people away, we also remain locked and restrict our freedom. Human beings are sheltered and protected, and when someone says, 'You're picking on me "is not exactly true. What is certain is that you're playing one of his mental wounds he reacts because it hurts.

When you are aware that all persons around you have emotional wounds full of poison, you begin to understand the relationships of human beings in what the Toltecs call the dream of hell. From the Toltec perspective, everything we believe in ourselves and everything we know about our world is a dream. If you look at any religious description of hell you realize that differs from the human society, the way we dream. Hell is a place of suffering, where there is fear, where there are wars and violence, where the judge and no justice, a place of infinite punishment. Human beings act against each other in a jungle of predators, human beings full of trials, reproachful, full of guilt, full of emotional poison: envy, anger, hate, sadness, suffering. And we see all these little demons in our mind because we have learned to dream hell in our own lives.

All we create a personal dream itself, but humans before us created a big outside dream, the dream of human society. Sleep outside, or the Dream of the Planet, is the collective dream of billions of dreamers. The Big Sleep includes all the norms of society, its laws, its religions, its different cultures and different ways of being. All information stored in our mind is like a thousand voices that speak at the same time. This is what Toltecs call the mitote.

But what we really are is pure love, we are Life. And what we really have nothing to do with sleep, but prevents us from seeing mitote. When you look at the dream from this perspective and become aware of who you are, you realize how absurd is the behavior of human beings, and then it becomes fun. So for everyone else looks like a big drama for you it's a comedy. See how human beings suffer for something that is irrelevant, something that is not even real. But we have no choice. We are born into this society, we grow in this society and learn to be like everyone else, acting and continuously competing in an absurd way.
